Trustees reviewed proposed uses of remaining winter-storm reimbursement (UR) funds and other capital balances at the June 5 Business & Support Committee meeting. Facilities director Rogelio VelE1squez (referred to in the meeting as "Mister Velasquez") explained that the Sigaroa High School literacy building requires additional flashing, coping and a new coating to improve drainage and that the amount shown in the backup was intended to cover that scope and allow work to start shortly after approval.
VelE1squez also described other projects listed against the remaining balances: replacing restroom partitions at Milton and Garcia Early College, repairs to ROTC obstacle-course equipment, and installation of a new marquee that came with a short mounting base; staff recommended an extension so the marquee clears the surrounding fence and provides better visibility. He said the new marquee is in crates and ready to install once the mounting height issue is addressed.
Administration said the UR funds referenced in the packet are the final dollars available under that designation and that the projects recommended were allowable uses for those funds. Trustees asked whether radios for police and other equipment had already been purchased; staff said previous radio purchases had been made and the items in the packet reflected remaining balances and final project charges.
The packet also listed multiple budget amendments and bond-fund adjustments (BA items 24-25-49 through 24-25-53) affecting capital funds and bond series; the board received the items for review and asked for the related backup and timing in the regular board meeting packet. Staff noted that one budget amendment (BA 24-25-53) was contingent on approval of agenda item 5 (reclassification of winter-storm refunds).
