The Weston County Board voted to accept $4,895.71 in problem-gambling grant funds for 2025. Staff told commissioners the award includes some unclaimed funds from state fiscal year 2024 and said the coalition administering the funds will present a strategic plan and quarterly reports on spending and evaluation metrics.
A coalition representative told the board the subcommittee will meet quarterly, will prepare a strategic plan for the funds and will return to the board with quarterly spending and metrics reports; she also noted a training in September being hosted by the Wyoming Problem Gambling Council in Buffalo. Commissioners asked that the coalition identify a county commissioner to serve as a non-voting participant for information and oversight; one commissioner volunteered to be available to join by Zoom when necessary.
The board moved, seconded, and approved acceptance of the 2025 funds by voice vote; no opposing votes were recorded.
