Board approves RFPs for flooring, playground fencing, security badges and technology reviews

The Clinton City Schools Board approved several requests for proposal (RFPs) and quotes intended to support routine summer capital work and recurring technology contracts.
District staff presented a grouped list of RFPs and quotes for projects above the district thresholds: flooring replacement (including South Clinton classrooms and Central Office), fencing for the new inclusive playground at Clinton Elementary, the five-year reprocurement of the Syntegix crisis-alert badge system, a five-year procurement for the i-Ready individualized learning platform, Chromebooks, and the student information system review for Aspen.
Staff said the flooring will replace original white vinyl tile in some classrooms and Central Office to improve aesthetics and safety; the playground fencing will enclose the new inclusive play area; and Syntegix remains the district’s primary vendor for the crisis-alert badge system given feature set and cost considerations. The district plans to re-evaluate Aspen for student information needs even though staff do not currently expect to change vendors.
Board members were offered the opportunity to pull items for separate discussion; none were pulled. The board approved the grouped RFPs and quotes by voice vote.
Staff said summer work will be staged to complete a few classrooms per year and to minimize disruption. The board recorded the approvals and moved on to subsequent agenda items.
