The Bolivar R‑I Board of Education approved a one‑year cooperative agreement allowing a student from Halfway to join Bolivar's girls varsity golf program for the coming school year.
Tim Pizzetti, the district activities director, told the board that the cooperative request involves a single girl golfer from Halfway. He said combining enrollments for cooperative purposes would not move Bolivar into a different class for competition and that the additional player would not displace any current Bolivar varsity athletes. "The reason that we think this is a good thing is it's no varsity spots we've taken away from any of our varsity players," Pizzetti said.
Board members asked about potential costs and logistics. Pizzetti said most equipment costs fall to families (many golfers supply their own bags, polo shirts and balls) and that the out‑of‑district student would still pay the district's athletic fee. He said parents or the sending district would be responsible for transportation to practices and meets; the agreement is on a year‑by‑year basis.
The board voted to approve the cooperative agreement during the meeting.
