Sheriff tax settlement: The court accepted the 2024 sheriff tax settlement. Sheriff’s staff reported total revenue of $113,870,294.22 and net revenue after credits of $108,374,602.94. The court approved the settlement by voice vote.
Payables: The court moved to pay presented bills and approved the payables by voice vote.
Budget transfers: Fiscal staff presented year-end budget transfers across general fund, jail transfers, road fund and dispatch. The total transfers presented were $1,289,550. The court approved the transfers after discussion in finance committee.
Police recruits: The court approved hiring four police recruits — Joshua Flagg, Tate Crawlwell, Zach Turner and Nick Fancera (names as presented) — to start employment and recruitment training. The recruits will enter local in-house training and then attend basic training in August; the recruits are subject to a five-year training/reimbursement contract if they leave within that period.
Appointments: The court reappointed Sherry Gray to the Police Merit Board (term to expire Feb. 2029) and approved the appointment of Bill McClay as assistant emergency management director (an unpaid position) effective the day of the meeting.
How votes were taken: Most routine approvals were handled by motion and voice vote with “all in favor say aye” and the court recorded the motions as approved. No roll-call tallies with names were printed in the meeting transcript.
