Revere License Commission approves one‑day alcohol permits and manager change for American Legion Post 61

The Revere City License Commission on an uncontested vote approved seven one‑day malt, wine and common victuals licenses for American Legion Post No. 61 to operate a barbecue and beer garden on the lawn at 249 Broadway on Sundays in summer 2025, and separately approved a change of officers and manager naming Jerry Amori.

The licenses cover events from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27, August 3 and August 10, 2025, with a rain date of Aug. 17, 2025. The application estimated attendance of about 100 people per event.

During the public hearing, American Legion representatives said the post has run similar events for the past five to six years without incident. Ira Novosalski, who identified his address for the record, described a fenced, confined service area and said the post serves beer and wine from a single service table. Jerry Amori, who was listed on filings and later approved as manager, was present and identified as the post treasurer and manager candidate.

Commissioners asked no substantive questions; there were no proponents or opponents who spoke. A commissioner moved to approve the one‑day licenses and another commissioner seconded; the commission then approved the application. The commission took a second, separate vote to approve the application to change officers and appoint Jerry Amori as manager, again with a motion and second and without public opposition.

The commission closed both items after approval and wished the applicants success with the events.
