The Waukesha City Board of Review heard objections from multiple property owners at its June 17 session and, after testimony from owners and the city assessor, the board upheld the assessor's valuation in a series of contested cases.
Key outcomes (addresses and motions): - 1909 Treeline Court (owner David Cerrone): board upheld the assessor's $660,000 valuation by roll-call vote (L. Miller, E. Dunstier, C. D'Angelo, S. Wilkie — ayes). - 3611 Hawthorne Hill Drive (owner Amanda Doubleday): board upheld the assessor's $632,800 valuation; the board noted a pending sale was not representative for the January 1 valuation date and advised the assessor to follow up with the new owners for 2026 sales verification (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 2911 Willard Lane (owners Bridal and Kelly Smith): board upheld the assessor's $510,500 valuation after examining square-footage and basement adjustments (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 2411 Kayla Drive (Bruce and Billy Krantz): the board considered construction and age differences within the condominium development but upheld the assessor's valuation (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 2718 Northview Road, Unit 8 (Steven Gitzlaff): board upheld the assessor's $183,900 valuation after reviewing comparable sales (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 231 Maria Street (Neil Schaffer): board upheld the assessor's valuation after review of 2024 sales that the assessor presented (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 87872 Harding Avenue / Amvet Properties (Andrew Borgstrom, on behalf of owner): board upheld the assessor's valuation; owner asked the assessor to perform a walkthrough for next year's review (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 2412 Fox River Parkway, Unit I (Melissa Walker): board upheld the assessor's valuation for the unit after reviewing association sales and limited upgrade evidence (unanimous roll-call ayes). - 2005 Berner Court (Paul Cook): board upheld the assessor's valuation (unanimous roll-call ayes).
In each upheld case the board concluded the property owners had not presented sufficient evidence to overcome the statutory presumption of correctness assigned to the assessor's valuation. Board members repeatedly encouraged owners who cited condition issues or deferred maintenance to request a property walkthrough by assessor staff for consideration in next year's valuation cycle.
Appeal rights: owners were informed they may appeal the board's decisions to circuit court.
The board recorded roll-call votes on each motion; the full docket and roll-call tallies are part of the official minutes.
