Residents urge regional planners to keep Log Cabin Road off active projects list and protect LBA Woods

Ruth and other speakers said the proposed road would traverse LBA Woods, a neighborhood green space they described as increasingly regionally significant and heavily used for walking and recreation.
Camille Copeland and David Dickinson, both residents who said they use LBA Woods frequently, asked the Transportation Policy Board and TRPC to respect Olympia’s planning process and treat the Log Cabin Road connection as a study item rather than a city‑sponsored active project. They asked that decision‑makers give the city’s street connectivity study time to inform any future action and that the Transportation Policy Board honor the TRPC guidance.
Council Member Madrone acknowledged receipt of public comments and said the council had informally discussed the issue earlier that evening, that he and other council members will continue to advocate at the TRPC, and that he is Olympia’s representative to the regional planning council.
