U.N. reports civilian casualties and aid deliveries amid continued attacks in Ukraine

Humanitarian operations: The spokesperson said an interagency humanitarian convoy delivered aid to Bilozirka in Kherson region, delivering hygiene items, bed linens, kitchen sets, first aid kits and a charging station. The spokesperson said the area remains under constant shelling and that thousands of residents need humanitarian assistance. It was the second convoy to reach frontline Kherson areas in the same week.
Displacement: The spokesperson cited U.N. agency figures that some 9.4 million Ukrainians remain displaced inside the country or abroad and that UNHCR reports about 5.6 million refugees globally. The International Organization for Migration reported another 3.8 million internally displaced.
Why it matters: Continued attacks on population centers and damage to civilian infrastructure are prolonging humanitarian needs, increasing displacement and complicating relief operations for families and first responders.
