Council denies requested zoning change for 401 Keene Court that would have removed Ridgecrest frontage requirement
Summary
At second reading, council rejected a developer request to alter a 2021 zoning condition requiring specific lots in the Keene Home Place subdivision to face Ridgecrest Drive. The denial preserves a recorded plat note and the subdivision's previously approved concept plan.

The City Council on June 17 denied a second-reading zoning change and associated site plan for 401 Keene Court, preserving a prior condition that certain lots in the Keene Home Place subdivision must front Ridgecrest Drive.
Planning Director Killough told council the original 2021 zoning and concept plan for the subdivision included a plat note requiring Lots 1–6 to face Ridgecrest Drive; the recorded plat contains that note. The applicant sought to alter the condition so Lot 6 (401 Keene Court) would instead face King Court; Killough said the exhibit provided with the application did not include the recorded plat note. Staff recorded one written opposition and four letters of support from properties within 200 feet; Planning and Zoning recommended approval but council voted to deny at second reading 7–0.
Mayor Pro Tem Williamson moved to deny the ordinance (No. 480-784A, Z825-0037). The motion carried 7–0. Council’s action leaves the original plat note and zoning conditions in force.
