Kane County Commission convened a public hearing at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 76 North Main Street to consider Resolution R 2025-10, a notice of intent to annex the towns of Bigwater and Outen into the Kane County Human Resource Special Service District. The presiding commissioner asked for public comment and, after hearing none, closed the hearing.
The hearing was solely to take public comment on the notice of intent. “Is there anyone from the public who would like to make a comment? Seeing none, I will now go out of public hearing. That was the sole purpose of our meeting today,” the presiding commissioner said. No speakers from the public addressed the commission during the hearing.
Following the public-hearing portion of the meeting, a motion to adjourn was made and seconded; commissioners voiced their approval. “All those in favor, please say aye,” the presiding commissioner said. The meeting record indicates the motion carried unanimously and the session was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
The transcript does not record a vote on the underlying annexation resolution itself, nor does it record any public testimony for or against annexation. The public hearing was the only agenda item listed for the meeting.
