The Transportation Advisory Committee voted May 19 to recommend that the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approve a spring submission in the Neighborhood Sidewalk program: a 990-linear-foot sidewalk on Cynthia Lane to connect Lorianne Drive to a pool house in Williams Park.
Missy Stahl, the city's CIP director, told the TAC the contractor bid for concrete was $20,345. The homeowners association agreed to contribute $2,500; staff calculated the city share at $17,008.45 and reported $52,178 remaining in the sidewalk budget. The parcel where the sidewalk will be built is HOA-owned, so only one signature was required on the petition.
TAC members said the project meets program requirements because it connects an existing sidewalk to a community amenity and eliminates a short stretch of pedestrian travel in the street. A motion to forward the project to BOMA for approval by resolution passed by voice vote.
Next steps: Staff will take the neighborhood sidewalk project and the funding request to BOMA for a resolution at the next meeting.
