Nonprofit recommends master plan for Redfish Bay Causeway; warns seagrass protections complicate a beach

Kirsten Stanzel of the Coastal Bend Bays and Estuaries Program told the Aransas Pass City Council on June 16 that a master plan would help the city identify realistic ways to expand public access along the Redfish Bay Causeway.
Stanzel said Redfish Bay is designated as the Redfish Bay State Scientific Area by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), and that seagrass habitats there are highly protected. “Seagrass is a very protected habitat.
