Fiscal Court approves expanded Commerce Parkway traffic study, county share $16,525

Oldham County Fiscal Court on Jan. 21 approved a contract revision with consultant QK4 to add two intersections to a Commerce Parkway traffic study between Parker Drive and KY‑393. County Engineer Jim Silliman told the court the change increases the total contract from $30,220 to $33,050 and that the cost will be split with the City of LaGrange.
"We got a revised price for the study, which is $33,050. The original proposal was 30,220," County Engineer Jim Silliman said, explaining that adding intersections near KY‑53 and Crystal Drive and Parker Drive made sense because the road extends in those directions. The county’s share will be $16,525, with LaGrange entering a separate contract for the same amount.
Silliman said the study is expected to be completed by the end of the fiscal year. Magistrates asked whether LaGrange approved the increased cost; Silliman replied that the city’s mayor, director of public works Corey Resnick and the city attorney had approved the contract via email and that LaGrange will have its own contract with QK4.
The court approved a motion authorizing Oldham County Judge Executive David Vogel to sign the contract amendment. The approval followed a road committee recommendation and a positive report from county staff. No additional county funding beyond the stated share was committed at the meeting.
The traffic study covers Commerce Parkway from Parker Drive to KY‑393 and now includes the two additional intersections to better reflect traffic flows where the corridor connects toward KY‑53.
