County counselor reports nuisance-abatement activity and forthcoming public-works RFPs tied to sales tax funds

Brian Parker, the county counselor, updated the Board of County Commissioners on nuisance-abatement activity and coordination with public works on upcoming procurements.
Parker said several people have received summonses as part of an ongoing nuisance-abatement process and that the county is awaiting responses. "As soon as we do, we will engage with them," he said.
Parker also said public-works staff have drafted several RFPs and RFQs that will be released soon and that project expenditures will draw from local sales-tax increments the county manages. He referenced both 2-cent and 5-cent sales-tax allocations and the county’s remaining 5-cent funds. He said part of the funds will support the Marlatt design project, a joint city–county effort.
Parker encouraged commissioners to direct questions to staff as the procurements and project design move forward.
