The Coffee County Board of Education amended its agenda to add a transportation purchase and then approved the consent agenda and personnel recommendations during its Feb. 27 regular meeting.
Board Chair called the meeting to order and asked for a motion to amend the agenda to include the transportation purchase. After discussion, the board took a voice vote to adopt the amended agenda.
The consent agenda—previously discussed in a work session—included the monthly financial report, the FY24 audit report, a safety purchase (new cameras and body-worn cameras for school officers), and authorization to purchase a smaller transportation vehicle (an Explorer-type vehicle) to transport groups of eight or fewer students per a new state law. The board also approved the board operating protocol and placed two policy revisions (JVCB on nonresident students and DIB on financial reports) on public review.
Board members also approved the personnel list and substitute teacher list as presented. The motions on the consent agenda and on personnel were made and seconded during the meeting and carried on voice votes.
No roll-call tallies were read into the record for these routine approvals, and no executive session was requested.
The votes concluded routine business and directed staff to proceed with the purchases and follow-up actions described in the agenda packet.
