The State Patrol testified in committee in favor of the bill, the sponsor said.
The amendment passed by voice vote and was adopted. The clerk then gave the bill its third reading on the floor.
Floor discussion included questions from senators representing Greater Minnesota and farm districts who wanted assurance that standard farm machinery and UTVs would not be inadvertently recategorized.
