The House Government Operations Committee voted to advance House Bill 501, which would create the Tennessee Juvenile Justice Review Commission and administratively attach it to the Commission on Children and Youth. Chairlady Littleton presented the bill and said the commission would meet at least quarterly beginning November 2025 to review a sampling of juvenile justice cases and critical incidents involving delinquent juveniles in the custody of the Department of Children's Services.
