The Washington County board granted fee waivers and event approvals at its meeting, including a request from the Green Bay Heritage Rodeo organizers and a separate permit to serve alcohol for a military event.
An event organizer asked the board to waive convention-center rental fees for a College Day Career Fair Rodeo exhibition and to provide security assistance. The board approved waiving the fees for the convention center and the arena for that day and agreed to coordinate with the sheriff’s department for security support. Commissioners also supported a county exhibit at the job fair portion of the event to promote county employment opportunities.
Separately, a request from an event promoter, Mr. Barr, to serve alcoholic beverages at the Washington Convention Center for a military event was approved; the board reminded the promoter to provide required paperwork and to coordinate security with the sheriff’s office.
The board approved waiving venue rental fees for an additional two-day reunion event and encouraged board representation at the opening ceremony. Commissioners cautioned organizers to secure required sheriff’s department security and paperwork before events.
Why it matters: Fee waivers and security commitments affect county facility revenue and staff workload. The board’s approvals support local events that bring students and community members to county venues.
