Board recognized with Master Board Award at Utah School Boards Association conference

Superintendent Bergerson reported to the board on Jan. 9 that the Washington County School District Board had received the Master Board Award from the Utah School Boards Association at the organization's annual conference.
The superintendent said the award recognizes boards that meet a set of continuing-education and engagement requirements and noted that the Washington County board was among a limited number of districts to receive the recognition. He credited Board Member Hessen for leading the district's effort to meet the award criteria and asked the board to accept the recognition.
Board members thanked staff and recognized the behind-the-scenes work—attending community councils and satisfying open-meeting and other training requirements—needed to qualify for the award.
