XENIA, Ohio — The Xenia City Council on Feb. 27 approved contracts for five major 2025 infrastructure projects, awarding work on street resurfacing and water-main installation to four contractors and setting completion dates ranging from June to October 2025.
Council approved awards for the Schillen Road and Tyler Road rehabilitation, Country Club Drive resurfacing, East Church Street resurfacing, and the South Detroit Street water-main alignment. City staff told council that lower-than-expected bids and several grant awards left roughly half a million dollars in potential capacity to add neighborhood streets to the program this year.
City staff presented details for each contract during the meeting. Chief Stutes, representing city public works and engineering staff, said the Schillen and Tyler Roads project will include water-main replacement, storm-sewer work, and full roadway, curb, sidewalk and ADA ramp rehabilitation.
