Miku Tisaka, a student at SHARYLAND ISD, spoke in the district's student spotlight about helping new students and families adjust to school life by using her fluency in Japanese. She said her language abilities allow her to support newcomers and help them feel connected to the school community. Tisaka also described participating in student council, cheer, chess, UAL and the radio club, and said working with classmates across these activities has taught her about teamwork and listening. The spotlight concluded with a district presenter thanking Tisaka for her contributions and saying she made the school proud.
