Commission reviews gallery procedures, publicity, outreach and event calendar; discusses youth film and local collaborations

At its Feb. 25 meeting the Tiburon Town Heritage and Arts Commission reviewed and revised gallery procedures, clarified responsibilities for artist liaisons and publicity, and discussed outreach to emerging artists and local collaborations including a proposed youth film program.

Commissioners emphasized the need for a single point person for each exhibition to manage logistics such as hang dates, receptions, banner art, publicity images and coordination with staff. The commission agreed that commissioners working with specific artists should supply timely images and coordinate with Marissa, the town staff liaison, who will prepare graphics and distribute items through Tiburon Talk and the town’s Instagram. Commissioners noted that Dave Gotts requires roughly three weeks’ lead time for discounted banner production and asked that banner hang dates be respected in scheduling.
