Comal County Commissioners Court approved a series of routine items on Thursday, including county claims, plats, budget transfers, monthly reports and certifications.
The court approved claims for February 2025 with an electronic funds transfer (EFT) line and regular claims. The motion to approve claims was moved by Commissioner Hogg and seconded by Commissioner Leacock and carried by voice vote.
Several plats and plat amendments were approved, including combining lots in Canyon Lake Hills Unit 1, Canyon Lake Mobile Home Estates Unit 2, and Mystic Shores Unit 11; the county judge was authorized to sign the related documents. County staff recommended approval for each of the complete applications.
The court approved a number of line-item transfers and budget adjustments across departments, including transfers for: West Connector study (road and bridge), copier leases (district clerk, jail), uniform expenses for environmental health inspectors, website hosting and content-management costs, annual maintenance for the New World ERP application, and corrections to IT GL coding for security services. The court also approved a contract amendment for Pape Dawson Consulting Engineers LLC (see separate article) and accepted financial and compliance reports such as the treasurer’s monthly report for January 2025, the 2024 Chapter 59 asset forfeiture reports for multiple offices, and the 2024 equitable sharing agreement and certification for law-enforcement offices.
Other personnel and administrative items approved included: a regrade for a sheriff’s office position (effective date amended to March 17, 2025), appointment of an assistant county engineer as the county’s Americans with Disabilities Act coordinator, and approval of an Affordable Care Act reporting and tracking service renewal at no cost through the Texas Association of Counties Health Employee Benefits Pool.
All listed items were approved by motion and voice vote during the meeting; detailed motions and seconders were recorded in the public transcript for each item. Items that were discussed in closed session were addressed separately and any final formal action was recorded in open session.
