Board of Registration approves Open Meetings Act resolution and minutes; rescinds prior OMA resolution

The Sandoval County Board of Registration unanimously approved a resolution adopting the Open Meetings Act requirements for the year and approved the meeting minutes, the board said at its regular session.
During the meeting the chair noted the resolution in the packet rescinds a prior measure. Chief Deputy Clerk Joey Dominguez confirmed that the resolution rescinds the earlier action, saying, "That is correct. It rescinds the previous resolution that was adopted."
Board members discussed the voting process before the roll call. A motion to approve the Open Meetings Act resolution received a second, and the chair called the question. After members responded "Aye," the chair said "Motion passes." The minutes from the prior meeting were then moved, seconded and approved by voice vote; the chair said "Motion carries. Minutes are approved."
Members asked that minutes be circulated a few days before meetings in the future so members can review them in advance. The board also recorded procedural clarifications: there must be a motion and second before discussion on an item and members were reminded of Open Meetings Act requirements regarding quorum and off-agenda discussions.
The board did not identify any member votes as opposed or abstaining on either item. The clerk—s office will have the adopted resolution and the approved minutes available for signatures.
