Committee passes technical cleanup transferring administrative hearings and references to attorney general

Sponsor Jason Howell described it as “our real cleanup bill,” and said the majority of the changes are “simply name changes for, some cleanup that was overlooked last time.”
Committee members asked no substantive policy questions; the clerk recorded a unanimous vote and the chair announced the bill would “proceed to the floor with favorable expression.”
The measure was presented as technical corrections tied to prior legislative changes, including consolidation of certain administrative hearings and child-support administrative responsibilities under the Attorney General’s Office and updates made in anticipation of recently passed data privacy provisions.
