Encinitas recognized by APBP San Diego chapter for bicycle and pedestrian initiatives

Morgan Ruby, co-lead of the APBP San Diego Chapter, and Sabrina Momo explained the chapter’s mission to promote the best state of practice for pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure and professional development. The chapter cited Encinitas’ implementation of lower speed limits under AB 43, expansion of protected bicycle infrastructure, cycling classes, co-funding for crossing guards and Safe Routes to School education programs in selecting the city for agency recognition.
APBP noted that it held a technical tour in Encinitas with more than 20 participants to study existing and planned projects and outreach activities. The council accepted the presentation and representatives posed for a photo with city leaders.
