The Chandler Unified School District governing board on Feb. 26 approved a recommended employee compensation package for the 2025–26 school year, following review by the district’s Super Q and budget committees.
Super Q and the budget advisory committee presented their findings and a joint recommendation that the board approve targeted increases across employee groups. The package passed unanimously.
Key elements the board approved include a 2.4% salary increase for classified (support) staff; a 2% salary increase for certified staff and administrators; $500,000 allocated toward increases in health insurance premiums (pending plan renewal thereafter); continuation of a $600 stipend under the district’s Journey 2025 program; and a 1.25% increase to the entry level of the certified/support/administrator salary schedule to adjust the base for contract creation.
District finance and HR staff said the Super Q committee met in January and February with broad representation from employee groups and that the separate citizens budget committee reviewed proposed budget items and recommended inclusion of the package in the FY26 budget. Board members discussed whether the action constituted acceptance of the committee report or formal approval of the raises and confirmed the vote authorizes contract increases so staff can prepare contracts and present them to the board in March.
Superintendent and finance staff said the district expects average daily membership to decline and that reserve balances will be used to smooth budget effects while enrollment changes continue. The board approved the action to allow HR to draft and circulate contracts ahead of March contract approval deadlines.
