East Ridge Elementary near final closeout; board approves final change order and pay application

Clear Creek Amana staff told the school board that construction at East Ridge Elementary is approaching final completion and that remaining exterior work is scheduled to resume when weather permits. District representatives said closeout documentation is roughly halfway complete.
At the board meeting, staff presented change order No. 15 — described as the final change order to date — and summarized that the list includes a mix of omitted items, owner requests and contractor adjustments. Staff said in two instances the district shared in the cost: one for a door hardware specification and another for an intercom installation that required coring through concrete. The board approved change order No. 15 in the amount of $21,202.
District staff also presented pay application No. 21 from Knutson Construction for East Ridge in the amount of $10,450; the board approved that pay application. Staff noted they had asked the contractor to reduce or revise some costs and that staff had reallocated or negotiated credits where appropriate.
Project staff cautioned that, even after approval, a late subcontractor claim could still arise until the project formally closes. They said they had given contractors and subcontractors an opportunity to raise outstanding items before finalizing this change order.
No further action on East Ridge was scheduled; staff said they would continue closeout processing and respond if any additional claims emerge.
