School committee approves Woburn Memorial High School program of studies with new courses, internships and research offerings

The administration also described internship programming for seniors, which is student-driven and monitored by the senior team, and noted career-pathway connections (biotech and manufacturing) and a transitional education work-training coffee shop. The district intends to pilot a dance curriculum tied to physical-education credit and to bring back heritage/heritage-language sections such as Spanish for fluent speakers.

Vote and next steps: Principal Rassanen presented the program and the committee approved it following a motion, second and unanimous voice vote. Administrators will finalize staffing and enrollment monitoring and will implement the new offerings in the coming school year.
