The New Rochelle Corporation for Local Development voted unanimously Feb. 26 to contract directly with Subversive Media to host and maintain the city’s development engagement web page and related digital programs.
Staff said the city previously contracted with a strategic communications consultant that subcontracted hosting and maintenance to Subversive Media. By contracting directly with Subversive Media, staff said the city will receive the same hosting and maintenance services for substantially less—presented to the board as a savings of more than $100,000 compared with the prior third‑party contract. Staff added that the city has bolstered its in‑house communications capacity, including hiring a designer, and will no longer rely on the strategic communications portion of the prior contract for these technical hosting services.
Programs hosted through the site include the city’s Engage NR virtual‑reality module and Hola NR, the Spanish‑language engagement program. A motion to authorize the contract passed unanimously; staff said they would circulate contract paperwork and implementation details.
