The New Rochelle Industrial Development Agency voted unanimously Feb. 26 to waive a 90‑day contract‑notice requirement and authorize continuing its contract with Grow America for an additional two years.
Agency staff said Grow America has been providing back‑office and economic development support to the IDA and that the contract includes a 2% annual escalator. Staff cited the original year‑one fee of $108,000 and said the 2025 amount in the contract is $112,363; that amount is included in the IDA’s 2025 budget. Board members said the firm has been responsive and that continuing the relationship avoids the time and expense of building the capacity in‑house.
Board members placed the approval on the consent of the board after a short discussion about whether formal notice had been given; staff said the firm was willing to mutually waive the notice requirement. A motion to retroactively waive the 90‑day notice and continue the contract for two years passed unanimously.
The vote followed routine approvals of meeting minutes and the board’s annual city‑services agreement, which were also approved without opposition. City manager Wilfredo Melendez and IDA counsel were present in the audience during the discussion.
