The Pompano Beach Planning and Zoning Board on Feb. 26 approved a major site plan for the Broward County Copans Transit Operations Facility, recommending the development move forward subject to five conditions from Development Services.
Lauren Gratzert, Development Services, said the project is located at the northeast corner of West Copans Road and the Florida Turnpike, in an I‑1 (general industrial) zoning district. Gratzert said the applicant seeks approval to construct a new 215,800‑square‑foot bus maintenance facility, two 17‑foot guard houses, new bus staging and electric charging areas, expanded employee and fleet parking, upgraded stormwater retention, and landscape work.
