Minnesota DHS outlines uncertain Medicaid exposure after House budget resolution

The Minnesota Department of Human Services told the Senate Human Services Committee on Feb. 20 that a U.S. House budget resolution passed the previous night proposes deep cuts that could affect Medicaid funding.
“the congressional house passed a budget resolution proposing $880,000,000,000 in cuts, for the committee that oversees Medicaid,” DHS staff member Elise Bailey said, adding the department’s preliminary analysis showed the potential effect on Medicaid could range widely. “Our quick analysis is that the impact to Medicaid is unclear. However, it could range between 600,000,000,000 to the full amount.”
