BDR 1 — surveys of school staff: The committee introduced a BDR described by the chair as providing “certain surveys of school staff.” The motion to introduce that BDR was made by Vice Chair Dondero Loop and seconded by Senator Cruz Crawford; the committee recorded an aye vote with no opposition and the motion carried.
BDR 2 — suspected substance use by a pupil: Later in the meeting the committee introduced a second BDR described as establishing requirements relating to suspected substance use by a pupil. Senator Titus moved to introduce the BDR and the vice chair seconded. The motion carried on an aye vote with no opposition.
Actions recorded at the meeting therefore included both introductions; committee members noted these procedural steps assign a bill number and enable subsequent hearings but do not constitute support for the measure’s content.
