The Legal and Finance Committee of the City of Rapid City confirmed appointments to the Vision Fund Citizen Committee during its meeting, with one member voting no.
Councilman Bill Evans said he would oppose confirmations because he remains opposed to the Vision Fund plan. "I will continue to be, you know, voting against anything that is related to this current vision fund plan because, as you know ... I just did not feel that this particular, vision plan is a valid one, nor one supported by the voters," Evans said.
The committee approved consent item 4, which confirmed appointments including Leslie Magnuson, Greg Hanson, Holly Howie, Matthew Haswold, Lloyd Lacroix, Mary Drum, Matt James and John Kaiser to the Vision Fund Citizen Committee. The motion to approve the consent calendar (items 1โ10 except for item 4) was made by Bieberdorf and seconded by Maher; the separate motion to approve item 4 was moved by Bieberdorf and seconded by Maher. The motion carried with one recorded no vote by Councilman Bill Evans.
The confirmations occurred on the consent calendar; there were no public comments on the consent items, and the committee did not take additional public testimony on the appointments during the meeting.
No further conditions or terms for the appointees were specified in the meeting record.
