Council hears rezoning request for East Admiral property for restaurant; neighbors largely supportive

Susan Miller of the planning office said the TMA PC recommendation from the district (Council District 3) favored approval and that most nearby neighbors supported Cordova’s restaurant. Councilor Dutton told the council she had met with neighbors and the owner and said the property is large enough to accommodate required parking. Miller noted the property sits just outside the Route 66 overlay and that staff will work on signage and access details if the project proceeds.
Councilors expressed enthusiasm for a new Route 66–adjacent restaurant and asked staff to follow up on signage opportunities in the overlay. The transcript records no final vote on Z7805 during the Feb. 20 meeting.
