Board approves targeted improvement plans, 2025–26 calendar option B, TASB policy update 124 and consent agenda

The Corsicana ISD Board of Trustees approved multiple agenda items by voice vote at its Feb. 24 meeting, including targeted improvement plans, the district instructional calendar for 2025–26, the second reading and adoption of TASB policy update 124, and the consent agenda.

A trustee moved and another seconded approval of the 2025–26 targeted improvement plans for campuses in school improvement; the motion passed by voice vote.

The board then approved the 2025–26 instructional calendar (option B). Presenters noted the calendar was adjusted to align a biweek (bye week) during football season with the fall break; staff also flagged pending state-level discussion in Austin about a possible change to a later school start date, which could require an amendment to the calendar if legislation passes.

The board completed the second reading and approval of TASB policy update 124, which the district said covers intellectual property, employee standards of conduct, curriculum design, special programs, student welfare and community relations. Board members took no recorded roll-call vote in the public transcript; the motion passed by voice vote.

Finally, the board approved the consent agenda by motion and second. The meeting then recessed for a facilities committee meeting and subsequently adjourned into closed session as permitted by the Texas Government Code.
