Howard County Alcohol Board elects new chair and vice chair

The Howard County Alcohol Board approved its Jan. 28 meeting minutes and elected Steve Chen as chair and Steve Hunt as vice chair at a Feb. 25 hearing.
The actions came early in the meeting as board members confirmed the minutes and then moved to replace a departing member. The board voted to approve the Jan. 28 minutes before proceeding to elections.
Board members nominated and voted on both leadership positions. The board elected Steve Chen chair after a nomination and second were recorded. The board then elected Steve Hunt vice chair in a separate nomination and vote. All recorded votes for both leadership positions were affirmative.
Board members who voted in favor included Steve Chen; Mr. Coleman; Steve Hunt; Ms. Johnson; and Ms. Kim. No formal dissent was recorded in the roll calls on the leadership votes.
The board also noted that one member abstained from the minutes vote. No other formal actions were taken during the election sequence.
The board set its next regular meeting for March 11.
