Greer โ At its February 2025 meeting, the Greer City Council heard a monthly survey summary from the city's fire services that reported 10 medical calls so far this year in which ambulance response delay was 30 minutes or greater.
The speaker summarized that the department also recorded nine incidents where the city's crew provided advanced life support for a transportation agency, meaning Greer personnel acted as the primary caregiver during transport. "So far this year, we've had 10 medical calls where the delay in the ambulance has been 30 30 minutes or greater," the fire department representative said during the meeting.
City staff said the matter will be discussed at the Greenville County Mayors Association meeting and could be taken to the county council for further consideration. Mayor Danner and council members raised the issue as a county-level coordination item rather than a city-only solution.
The presentation did not include root-cause analysis or a proposed city policy change; councilmembers asked staff to pursue county-level discussion and follow up with additional information.
