Preschool lottery set for March 3 after mixed seat availability across district schools

The superintendent's office reported Feb. 25 that preschool applications for the 2025–26 school year are closed and that the district will hold its preschool lottery on Monday, March 3 at 10 a.m.
Administration said Wayside and Amasa schools received fewer preschool applications than available seats and therefore will not need a lottery; every applicant to those two schools has been offered a seat. OTES (the district’s other preschool site) had more applicants than available seats and will hold a lottery, but the district has approximately 10 overflow seats districtwide and will offer those as alternatives to families who do not receive a seat at OTES.
District staff encouraged families who missed the application deadline to join the secondary wait list and to check the district website for registration instructions. The superintendent closed the report by listing upcoming school events and recognitions.
