Audit committee forwards four settlements to full Board

The Government Audit and Oversight Committee voted 3-0 on Jan. 16, 2025 to forward two ordinances and two resolutions settling lawsuits and unlitigated claims against the City and County of San Francisco to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation.
Chair Supervisor Connie Chan, chair of the Government Audit and Oversight Committee, said she would make the motion to send the four items to the full board. “I will make that motion to move these 4 items to full board with recommendation,” Chan said during the meeting.
The items were described in the committee as “two ordinances and two resolutions settling lawsuits and unlitigated claims against the city.” Committee clerk Monique Creighton reminded the public that comment would be taken on each agenda item and that written comments could be emailed or mailed; she also said items acted on by the committee are expected to appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda of Jan. 28, 2025. “If you can submit public comment via email, it will be forwarded to the supervisors and also included as part of the official file,” Creighton said.
No members of the public spoke on the four items during the meeting. After public comment was closed, Chan moved that the four items be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors with a positive recommendation. In a roll call, the committee recorded three ayes and the motion passed.
Roll call as recorded by the clerk shows Chair Connie Chan voting aye, Member Charelle voting aye and Member Salter voting aye; the committee announced the motion passed with three ayes. The committee chair noted at the start of the meeting that she was joined by supervisors Steven Sherrill and Danny Souder.
With no further business, the committee adjourned. The four items will appear on the Board of Supervisors agenda on Jan. 28, 2025 unless otherwise noted by staff.
