Local activist alleges ballot-count discrepancy from 2024; county registrar in ongoing review

Langworthy said he and volunteers had obtained ballot statements with the cooperation of the Registrar of Voters (ROV) and presented the discrepancy. He said that he and the county were continuing to investigate and that they would apply the same audit approach to a 2026 special election to see whether results repeat. Langworthy urged the council to be aware of the process and said he did not think the ROV had yet fully explained the discrepancy.
Mayor and council members acknowledged the concern and said the city would stay informed; no formal council action was requested or taken. Langworthy said the group met with ROV staff on Feb. 25 and April 10 and planned further audits.
