Police report: Temecula logged 5,600 April calls; robbery/burglary suppression wrote 184 search warrants in 2024

The captain said the department observed a slight uptick in response times for priority 1 and 2 calls, and that factors affecting response include time of day, location, and traffic. He stressed that deputies are encouraged to respond quickly but safely.
The robbery/burglary suppression team statistics for calendar 2024 were presented as: 184 search warrants authored, 102 arrests, and 40 cases closed. Staff emphasized that investigative work for burglary and robbery often requires extensive follow-up, including search warrants and electronic-device forensics.
The presentation concluded with community policing images and examples of recent enforcement and outreach activity, including mounted enforcement in Old Town and a pharmaceutical-collection event. Council thanked the department and asked no substantive questions during the report.
