Sherman County commissioners approve routine financial and contract items, transfer van to Topside Manor

The Sherman County Board of Commissioners handled routine business and approved several contracts and purchases during its meeting.

Among the fiscal actions, commissioners approved payment of county bills totaling $1,451,430.54 and a separate ADP invoice for $9,130.30. They also approved tax roll corrections (items 10 through 13) presented during the meeting.

The commission approved a developmental services agreement for 2025. During discussion there was a question about the contract amount: one speaker referenced $30,000 while another referred to $43,000; staff confirmed the agreement is funded from the county’s sales tax fund. The motion passed and county signatures were required on the final document.

The board also approved several contracts and purchases with motions recorded as passed: it authorized the purchase of a grader from Foley Caterpillar for $318,918.51; approved a transport contract with Topside Manor to provide non‑911 transports (12‑month term with automatic renewal unless changed); and later approved transferring the county-owned van to Topside Manor, with title to be moved to Topside Manor’s name.

On technology needs, the county’s IT presenter requested approval to buy server storage and a network switch. He said the server price was $8,383 and the switch $3,999; commissioners approved the purchase (total roughly $12,382, within the $15,000 budget line).

The board also approved a personnel-related executive session (10 minutes) and subsequent attorney-client and security executive sessions. The meeting closed after a short public‑comment period and a motion to adjourn.

Votes were recorded in favor as part of routine motions; meeting minutes will record final signature pages and any final contract documents.
