Administration presented Mammoth’s proposal and explained alternates and add-ons: a base proposal of about $212,000, add-ons such as performance bond ($5,000), backstop padding ($17,050), dugout benches ($8,300), helmet cubbies ($5,300), and electrical service to the first-base dugout (roughly $5,000 with an underground-conduit option adding another $15,000). Administration recommended approving the proposal including alternates but with a maximum of $250,000 to leave room for final selections and minor scope adjustments.
Board members discussed dugout features (benching, net vs. solid front, conduit routing) and the recommended alternates. A motion to approve the dugout proposal with a $250,000 cap passed; administration said it will finalize decisions on add-ons such as benches and cubbies as they work to meet the budget cap.
Funds for the project will come from capital levy/reserve funds already planned in the capital projects schedule, administration said. Work is scheduled this construction season to meet sport schedules.
