County approves road-dedication plat for 200 South and Lambert Lane to clear title before conservation easement

The Summit County Council approved a road-dedication plat that establishes public right-of-way along portions of 200 South and Lambert Lane so the county can place conservation easements on adjoining parcels without encumbering public road maintenance or future improvements.
County staff said the measure clears property-title lines before the county places conservation easements on the “Your Ranch” parcels. The plat dedicates a 100-foot-wide right-of-way along much of 200 South, a 60-foot right-of-way on Lambert Lane and a 40-foot square at the Lambert/200 South junction to preserve space for possible future intersection improvements.
Brandon, a county presenter, said the wide right-of-way “should be plenty of room to do certain things,” including traffic calming, widening and a future trail. Council member Chris asked specifically whether the plat preserves space for a roundabout at the nearby Democrat Alley/200 South intersection. Staff said the parcels the county controls would allow only limited additional right-of-way at that location and agreed to widen the southwest corner of the year-owned parcel so the county retains the option of a future single-lane roundabout without having to renegotiate easements.
Council member Roger moved to approve the plat with that additional right-of-way carve-out at the Democrat Alley/200 South corner; the council approved the motion by voice vote. County staff said the dedication removes road segments from proposed conservation easements so routine roadwork will not be delayed by federal or conservation-holder approvals.
The county will update legal descriptions and proceed with the conservation-easement application next month.
