Wallsburg hears update on Main Canyon Road project; staff says additional funding likely

Wallsburg Town Council received a detailed update Jan. 2 on the Main Canyon Road project and the timeline for advertising and construction.
Troy Ossemer, speaking to the council, said the project is through most design reviews and "ready to advertise," but a funding gap of $474,000 remains. He said about 93% of that additional amount—$441,910—would be federal funding if approved, leaving a $32,090 local match specifically tied to the extra request. Ossemer said Chris Potter, the project engineer, indicated the additional funding is "a done deal" in his view and called the probability of approval "99%."
