The Providence City Committee on Finance voted to approve two appointments presented by the mayor: the reappointment of Bianca Rodriguez to the Zoning Board of Review and the appointment of Erlin Fragile to the Board of Licenses.
Bianca Rodriguez told the committee she has been a Providence resident for nearly two decades, has served about four years on the zoning board and is a full member, and said serving on the board helps her “keep the pulse, the physical and economic growth of Providence.” Committee members thanked her for her service and approved her reappointment by voice vote.
The committee also considered the appointment of Erlin Fragile to the Board of Licenses. Fragile said he recognized the importance of balancing support for small business with residents’ quality‑of‑life concerns and described experience he believes would serve on the licensing board. Committee members questioned how to ensure consistent treatment in licensing decisions and discussed concerns about appeals and deference to local decisions. The committee approved Fragile’s appointment by voice vote.
Both motions to approve were seconded and carried with aye votes announced.
