Construction updates: high school cafeteria and gym timelines, Edgar delays and $2.3M contingency discussed

At the high school, committee members said steel work for the new gym is progressing and the cafeteria addition is expected to be complete by May 1; the presenter said the overall high-school project completion target is December. At Campbell School, committee members said HVAC and playground work are in progress and district staff hope to open sections before September while completing other work before the school year.
The committee flagged delays at Edgar School in January and February and said overall completion there could be delayed even though classroom HVAC units remain on schedule for the start of the school year. The committee reported Greyhawk (the construction manager) is working with the contractor to get Edgar back on track and recommended contacting the contractor's bonding company for assistance if progress does not accelerate.
At Moss School, work on exterior masonry and interior partitions is underway; committee members said full completion is scheduled for November but that full-day kindergarten remains possible for 2025'26. The committee said grade realignment tied to Moss will not occur for 2025'26 because the construction timeline is too tight to ensure a smooth transition.
Other items: the committee discussed drainage/water issues at the Campbell ball field (an area not covered by the referendum but under review) and clarified that some temporary site lights are brighter than the planned finished fixtures. In closed session the committee reviewed fire-suppression questions at Campbell, bathroom change orders and the cost of adding air conditioning to the Edgar gym. The committee reported an available contingency of about $2,300,000 for the projects.
